AI visibility for primary care practices
More new patient appointments and a growing panel, from patients who ask AI
Get your primary care practice recommended by ChatGPT, Google AI and other AI assistants across your whole service area.
People who move, change insurance or lose their doctor increasingly ask an AI assistant which primary care doctors nearby are accepting new patients. The answer names a few practices and physicians. Patient Engine helps independent, group, direct primary care and concierge practices get named, and described accurately, across the area they serve. Some call this GEO (generative engine optimization). We call it AI visibility, and SEO comes included.
What patients ask AI before they book
These are the kinds of questions we test. Your set uses your services and the towns you serve.
- “Which family doctors near [your town] are accepting new patients?”
- “Can you find a primary care doctor near me who takes Blue Cross?”
- “Is there a female internist near me?”
- “What’s the best direct primary care practice near me?”
- “Is there a primary care doctor near me with same-day appointments?”
- “Who is a good doctor near [your town] for managing diabetes?”
Illustrative prompts. Real wording varies by person and by assistant.
Why primary care practices get overlooked in AI answers
Primary care patients ask practical questions: who is accepting new patients, who takes my insurance, who offers same-day visits, who is a good fit for a specific condition or for the whole family. An assistant can only answer for your practice if that information is public, current and consistent.
Often it isn’t. Physician pages are thin, “accepting new patients” status is out of date, insurance lists are missing, and directory listings disagree. In that case the assistant names a large health system or another practice that spelled it out, even when your panel has room.
How it works
There is no “submit to ChatGPT” button. AI assistants recommend the primary care practices they can find, understand and verify. We make that easy, and we measure it.
- 01
Map the questionsWe list the real questions patients ask AI about your services, for every town and neighborhood you serve.
- 02
Test the assistantsWe ask ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and Perplexity those questions and record who is named, how your practice is described, and which sources are used.
- 03
Fix the evidenceWe make your services, people, locations and listings clear and consistent, so assistants can verify what you offer. Your team approves every factual change.
- 04
Retest and reportWe repeat the same questions on a schedule and show you what moved, what still needs work, and how your Google search presence is doing alongside.
AI visibility first, with SEO included
SEO for your primary care practice is included. The same physician pages, listings and local relevance that help AI assistants also help you show up in Google and on the map. Ranking alone won’t get your practice named when a patient asks ChatGPT which doctors are accepting new patients, though, so we lead with AI visibility and handle the SEO along the way.
